"I met Jesse when there was a box of puppies dumped on the side of a county road. She was out of state at the time. My husband works for the municipality that they were taken to and my husband and I offered to foster all 10 of them so they had a warm place to stay while we figured out next steps when Jesse got home. While she is Wayne County's Animal Control officer, she is also EXTREMELY passionate about helping animals that don't have a place to go, whether that be due to neglect, abandonment, illness or strays that never knew what love from a human was like, she stives to help every single one. From making sure they're vetted, cleaned up, to discovering what it's like to be loved, happy and comfortable. She's well versed in every aspect of what she does and is thorough in making sure her furry friends are safe. She's dependable, helpful, and professional, but also personal and easy to talk to. With these 10 puppies, it's been a whirlwind, but Jesse has been there every step of the way. I couldn't have asked to be apart of a better cause and to be able to help Jesse help these pups. I've witnessed her drop everything in the middle of the night to rescue a stray dog that I was messaged about. Not only did she pick him up, she brought him into her home, and fostered him. She regularly covers veterinary expenses out of her own pocket to ensure stray dogs receive the care they desperately need, and she works tirelessly to give every dog a chance at a better life.
